Sound Design Project: The Wishgranter
This project was done in April 2021 for my Sound Design class at Hunter College and was originally uploaded to Vimeo. For my soundtrack project, I decided to work with this short film I found on YouTube. (original video) I noticed that the video had a lot of potential in terms of adding sound effects. The original video mostly uses music as the main sound. I decided to focus more on literal sound effects while having either music or natural ambiance in the background. I also added certain sounds for comedic effect, like when the one guy continues getting cash or when the dandelion is falling down. Most of my sound effects came from freesound.org. The dramatic/suspenseful music and the piano love song came from YouTube. I used a lot of the same sound effects, but I would either slow them down, speed them up, or other means of manipulation in order to get the sound that I desired. I used Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition to create this soundtrack project. I really enjoyed making this!
